Make the Most of it!

makethemostofitMost people, when asked about their favourite memories of high school, don’t mention their course work.  Instead, they talk about the field trips, teams, clubs and activities they participated in, and their new friends and “favourite teachers”.

At school it is important for you to do more than just course work. Your secondary school has many exciting clubs, teams and activities for you to become involved in. These are offered before and after school and at lunch time.  Join in and catch your school’s spirit.

It’s not just about passing a class, it’s about taking everything you can out of class and doing your very best. -Lindsay

Developing personal relationships is also important. Get to know other students in your school. Talk to your teachers and school staff about who you are and what you want to do with your life. They can help you set academic and personal goals.

Secondary school students lead very busy lives. Many are trying to balance part-time jobs, school work, clubs and/or teams as well as family responsibilities.  This can be quite a challenge.  Remember, you are not alone!  Ask for help from your parents, friends, teachers and school administrators.  They are there to help!!
